Santosh Iyer is a MedTech and AI strategist with a background spanning surgical robotics, medical imaging, and healthcare innovation. He currently drives technology strategy for the hips and knees business for Zimmer Biomet. Over the past 15+ years, he has worked across product strategy, commercialization, and emerging technology adoption at the intersection of AI and procedural medicine. His experience includes leadership roles in surgical robotics and digital surgery companies, with a focus on how imaging, data, and workflow technologies can improve clinical decision-making and operational efficiency. He is particularly interested in the future convergence of AI, robotics, and healthcare workflows, and has worked extensively with technologies involving computer vision, intraoperative imaging, and data-driven procedural guidance. Santosh also advises and collaborates with startups, healthcare organizations, and industry leaders on innovation strategy, workforce transformation, and next-generation healthcare technologies.
This session explores how real-time data and AI are powering the future of data-driven surgery in the operating room and beyond.
Moving beyond the robot, this session will explore how a data-centric architecture is enabling a new era of intelligent MedTech systems that integrate robotic, video, and AI applications across a digital ecosystem. Join Santosh Iyer and Stan Schneider, PhD as they discuss how data centricity provides the foundation for a new era of digital surgery that incorporates real-time surgical intelligence, telesurgery, and autonomous capabilities.
