Gaurav develops technologies and products that improve people’s lives. As a Director of Innovation Consulting, he recognizes technical or business opportunities and risks within the supply chain of complex and fast-moving projects and orchestrates delivery of meaningful solutions.
Gaurav has over 25 years of systems engineering experience across hundreds of projects in life science R&D and clinical and consumer medical devices. He has developed connected electro-mechanical medical and opto-electronic diagnostic devices, minimally-invasive surgical instruments, point-of-care appliances for DNA sample extraction and prep and destruction of regulated medical waste, a medical ICU monitor, laser based therapeutic devices, body-on-a-chip platforms for interacting human micro physiological systems and chromatography columns for early-stage pharma bioprocessing.
Gaurav is a named inventor on over a dozen patents. He co-invented and led the development of the low-cost drive system in Insulet’s OmniPod sub-cutaneous drug delivery system to its successful 510k clinical trial. He holds MS and BS degrees in mechanical engineering from MIT.
