Kyree Miller, a 30-year-old college student from Boston, had an Abbott HeartMate left ventricular assist device (LVAD) for seven years. During his heart failure journey, Kyree became active with the Massachusetts-based non-profit The Heart Brothers Foundation, which is committed to raising awareness of heart failure and providing resources for heart failure patients and their families. This organization provided Kyree a renewed purpose and in August 2022 he received a heart transplant. Today, Kyree continues to advocate for both LVADs and heart transplants as he works to help close the gaps that exist for heart failure patients in his community.
