As the current CEO and former COO, Lina is the key architect of Gradian Health Systems’ distribution model. Lina has grown Gradian from a single-product startup to a multi-product, and multi-disciplinary player in the medical technology spaces of anesthesia, critical care, and oxygen therapy. Gradian’s goal is to deliver the highest-quality medical technologies to any hospital in the world alongside the strongest set of logistical, engineering, and clinical training services to optimize bringing exceptional healthcare closer to those who need it most.
Under Lina’s stewardship, Gradian has defined itself uniquely in more than 30 markets across sub-Sharan Africa, Asia, and Latin America as a provider of innovative technologies and best-in-class in-country operations. Gradian found itself a key part of the global COVID-19 response effort. Goods and services for critical care and oxygen therapy had to be deployed internationally, as countries closed their borders and restricted the movement of these essential goods. Yet, despite this phenomenon, national governments in sub-Sharan Africa turned to Gradian for rapid deployment of technology solutions to support pandemic response and preparedness. It’s Lina’s leadership both pre- and post-pandemic that has positioned Gradian as a key partner in healthcare systems strengthening.
Today, Gradian has offices in four countries – the United States, Kenya, Tanzania, and India. Under Lina’s leadership, Gradian is rapidly expanding both its research and development and manufacturing capabilities through a combination of internal growth and strategic external partnerships – most recently announcing a manufacturing partnership with Canon Virginia, Inc.
Prior to her time at Gradian, Lina worked at JP Morgan Chase in the bank’s non-profit/healthcare division. Lina went on to get her MBA at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where she had the opportunity to work with several medical device and diagnostic companies focused on designing and distributing products for low-resource settings.
