A practicing hip and knee surgeon, Dr. Nitin Goyal is the Chief Science, Technology and Innovation Officer at Zimmer Biomet (ZB) where he oversees advanced research, product development and innovation platforms, in addition to the company’s medical education, clinical affairs and healthcare provider collaborations.
The author of over 50 scientific research papers, Dr. Goyal’s expertise is focused on advancing innovative digital health efforts to deliver data-powered clinical insights throughout the surgical journey and improving patient care, which has positioned him as a renowned thought leader in the medical device industry. Dr. Goyal was recently selected as a member of the Forbes Technology Council.
Prior to joining Zimmer Biomet, he also served as Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President of Innovation and Digital Care Delivery at Rally Health, part of the Optum business of UnitedHealth Group. Dr. Goyal is the Founder and CEO of Pulse Platform as well as Surgical Creations, leading both companies from inception to acquisition.
He received his bachelor’s degree from Penn State University, medical degree from the Jefferson Medical College, and completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery and fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at the Rothman Institute and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
