Kevin Bourque

Kevin Bourque is a Divisional Vice President of Research and Development at Abbott, overseeing mechanical circulatory support (MCS).  He contributed to the design and development of Thermo Cardiosystems, Inc.’s HeartMate® XVE, HeartMate II™, and HeartMate™ 3 left ventricular assist systems (LVAS), first as an engineer, then in roles of increasing technical leadership and functional management through multiple acquisitions by Thoratec Laboratories (2001), St. Jude Medical (2015), and Abbott (2017).  Kevin has Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts – Lowell.
